Commercial Drivers
Commercial drivers employed in the transportation industry keep the wheels of commerce turning across Montana. It is the Montana MVD that issues commercial driver's licenses (CDL) in Montana.
The renewal of CDLs is also uder the jurisdiction of the MVD. And, if you ever lose your Montana CDL or have it stolen, you can order a replacement through the MVD.
In addition to the issuance of commercial driver's licenses, the Montana MVD also takes on the responsibility setting the educational requirements for those who drive commercial vehicles in Montana. States must meet minimum federal guidelines regarding education and eligibility standards, but Montana determines additional requirements as well.
